The Boppers –Dancing in Rocket City

The Boppers –Dancing in Rocket City/ Cleveland Dolls –Kare KS 106 (197? US)

Get in line for The Boppers Invasion! Another great but unknown single from the 70s...
Dancing in Rocket City is a short and succinct bopping Bubblegum Pop/rock number with fun space bleeps and the track is as catchy as it is cute. The Boppers certainly had something of a Stones fixation as exemplified by the lyrical content on the A side and the Gimme Shelter lead guitar moves on the B side - Cleveland Dolls which rocks out more and perhaps gives a clue of the band’s provenance. The Kare record label was run of Columbus Ohio and although still listed in the business directory, the phone number is now disconnected. So any other source of info on this band out there?

The Boppers were from Marion, Ohio. Willie Phoenix wrote both songs. I sang Dancing in Rocket City. Willie sang Cleveland Dolls. The engineer was relieved when Willie took the mic. He said something along the lines of, "finally, I've got a real singer to work with!" I agree. Willie is still performing and can be found online.

I'm in contact with Willie Phoenix, the guitarist and writer of these 2 songs; The Boppers have released 2 singles, the other was CATRINA with a B side LETS GO BAD.
And his later band was called Romantic Noise, which some info about this band has this blog http://rickic614.blogspot.ch/2013/12/the-ballad-of-willie-phoenix-part-one.html

But nothing of this bands can be heard on the net, Willie told me that they gave all records to the girls :D.
