Tiger - I Am An Animal

Tiger- I Am An Animal/Stop That Machine –UA UP 35848 (1975 UK)

I Am An Animal is a full-frontal testosterone-charged, smeared in Brute assault on the senses (and sensitivities…). The words Wild Glam Cruncher were invented for this one, and it could have been a perfect follow up to Rebels Rule, with belt buckles and an extra set of dangling medallions to spare. The track has got great guitars, claps and all the trappings. And the lyrics? Oh boy…

…I am an animal, one big gruesome animal…
…Some people call me a ram, but I don’t give a damn…
…Some people say I’m a bull, cos’ I just love to pull…
…Some people say I’m a gorilla, cos’ I must get my fill-a
…Some people say I’m a beast, on women I like to feast,
it’s a concrete jungle and Tarzan ain’t got nothing on me man

Talk about raw unreconstructed specimens of manhood letting it fly…God bless the 70s!

That's not the b-side that's on my copy. Mine's called 'Blue Bloody Crazy' and it's a kind of Mungo Jerry/Bolan-esque boogaloo with sub-Chicory Tip-style synth throughout. I like it almost as much as 'Animal,' though in a completely different vein. More Small Wonder-ish if I have to make comparisons.

So we have 2 differing B sides so far: Sophie The Polish Chicken Hen and now this??!!! Stop That Machine is a cheerful and bouncy piece of light Boogie.

I'm not sure what the solution is here, but I have "Bloody Blue Monday" as the flip to "Crazy" a different(but killer!) Tiger single. I have the b-side of "I Am Animal" as "Stop that Machine". "Crazy" has a beautiful picture sleeve...

Also meant to add
Norm, Mike and Yanni were previously the 70s rock band WORTH, signed to CBS EPIC [Sony], mentored by Dick Leahy and Maurice Oberstein
Before that, they were signed to and managed by Apple.

Thanks for all the info Norm. I have both of those Worth singles, one includes a rare Vanda and Young track -did you meet them back then?

Robin wills ---- Vanda & Young - Easybeats - Friday on my mind. No, never met them. CBS A&R hierarchy asked us to record 'Don't say you don't'. Didn't rally like it. We were writing much more powerful funk stuff.
