Bandana –Jukebox Saturday Night

Bandana –Jukebox Saturday Night/Love is Where You Find It –Haven HS 807 (US 1976)
Bandana was Peter Beckett’s adventure following Skyband (them with the plumage and of Bang! Ooh! You Got Me fame) prior to forming the more successful Player. Originally formed under the moniker Riff Raff with Steve Kipner, Steve was soon replaced by J.C Crowley (also later in Player). Written by Crowley and Beckett (under the pseudonym J. Crocker); Jukebox Saturday Night is a perfect Powerpop/Glam number owing a big debt to 10CC. Swoopingly melodic and quirky, it certainly deserved a better fate.

Not bad. And somewhat reminiscent of Silver ("Wham-Bam-Shang-A-Lang" on Arista, 1976). Produced by Lambert/Potter (of vastly underrated ABC-Dunhill era 4 Tops) and, of course, later, Player. Is Player ("Baby Come Back") the best one hit wonder of all time? Or is it The Archies with "Sugar Sugar"?

Player was/is not a "one hit wonder". They also had Top 40 hits with "This Time I'm In It For Love" & "Prisoner Of Your Love" plus a handful of other singles that made the 'Hot 100' plus the band is still very much active. You should check your sources before posting a comment like that.
