The Action Faction – Afraid To Rock The Boat US Popsike/Baroque Pop (1968)

The Action Faction – Afraid To Rock The Boat/Why - United Recording Corporation Of Nevada (US 1968)

Finally I finda record that is really worth sharing here on the blog. First because no one else has, second because it is truly remarkable.

Afraid To Rock The Boat is a complex yet infectious multi- part opus. It has a definite anglophile Popsike sound  and would have fit perfectly on Rubbles. There is also an undeniable Baroque element with the string quartet emphasizing  its beauty. The B side is less ambitious and  displays more of a US Sunshine Pop aspect to their sound.

I couldn’t find anything about The Action Faction. They were from Nevada and recorded this single in Las Vegas. I really hope that band members are still around and will contact me as this is a story that needs to be told!
