Mother Trucker –Tonight/ Propeller Love –Ember EMA 0287 (1974 US)
Mother Trucker –Tonight/ Propeller Love –Vogue VB 401 (1975 Bel)
Both sides of this Mother Trucker single are fine examples of tuff Glam Crunch-a-rama in Punchin’ Judy mode with extra horn(s). Signed by the US branch of Ember by John Madara, Mother Trucker was a UK outfit supposedly with a background in road haulage (yeah right...). There also seems to be some line-up confusion between the US and Belgium sleeves –spot the similarities...not obviously apparent. Whatever the line-up Mother Trucker can handle my logistics any day –niark niark...

"we sang a New york City folk song about the dirt and the grime and the crime and the slime"
ReplyDeleteI just love that lyric and the way it's sung, pop magic. You keep finding this stuff, it's great.
Do you know where can I find the full album?
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteI had a quick look around and couldn't find one. Probably ebay is the most likely place
The album has been available on iTunes and Amazon music etc for a while now. And the record is on a couple of mail order sites. It's great fun! Did you ever find out more Robin? Were any of the girls in the various conflicting pictures (UK/US/Japan/Belgium etc) even musicians? Looks like it might be a pure exploitation exercise to me
ReplyDeleteNo news from my side...
