She was brash, funny and ferociously sexy. Around that time, she did a spread for a men's mag (like Hustler, or Men Only). So I'm told. Terry's still around and played with everyone from Jamme and the Flamin' Groovies to Blue Cheer and Sparks. From what I can remember those unreleased sessions were produced by a corporate underling and the album, shelved, but even if they were only demos, it would be great to get them released. I guess Kim Fowley is the guy to approach. Some of the songs appeared later (not quite on a Smile/ Smiley Smle level) but the version of No Escape came out on Alice Cooper's Welcome To My Nightmare LP is still great. I will soon be doing a Lance Romance/ Jimmy Jukebox post, so I will try and track Mr Fowley down for that one...Robin Willshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00668576789847507897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26721642.post-75232834442637266612008-11-30T05:56:00.000+00:002008-11-30T05:56:00.000+00:00Shady Lady - aaaah the memories. When I was a young Angeleno, they were the talk of the town's hipster cognescenti, but by the time I came of age (well, old enough to go to the local clubs), circa 1973, they didn't seem to be around any more - having been replaced in the city's collective hearts and minds by young upstarts like Christopher Milk.

The REAL lost LA glam story was a band called The Hollywood Stars. A Kim Fowley creation (pre Runaways/Quick etc.) they were initially envisioned as LA's answer to The Dolls, but they were much more powerpoppy & tuneful, while still packing quite a punch. Related to, but significantly different from, the band of the same name that released an album circa 1976. The original band apparently recorded an album for CBS circa 1974, but it's never been released. Find and post that one and I will be forever in your debt!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26721642.post-45602996052810748052008-11-28T03:19:00.000+00:002008-11-28T03:19:00.000+00:00I'm glad you asked me that fair Euro.
